Roll Tide - UNDEFEATED SEASON

Saturday, NOVEMBER 29, 2008.

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We just beat Auburn tonight!!! Horraaaay! I am so ecstatic we have an 12-0 undefeated season. Bring on the gators!! We will play Florida next weekend for the SEC championship here in Atlanta. I wish we could say we were going, but the tickets are expensive and we'd have to get a sitter for Ben, so I think we will just watch it at home. Though, I'd REALLY love to go to the game.

Happy Thanksgiving

Thursday, NOVEMBER 27, 2008

Happy Thanksgiving! It was a Vollmer Family first. We decided not to travel home to Alabama this year for Thanksgiving. Both of our mom's have had health issues, so we didn't want to impose our chaos on them. So I decided to cook the traditional meal (read way too much food). We invited our friends Noel and Shristie who are from India for lunch and also invited Ingrid (Ben's Nanny)(and my saving grace) to eat with us. We had such a nice time together! Ben sat at the table with us in his high chair. He had sweet potatos (Gerber) but I did give him just a taste of my sweet potato casserole. It had just a little thicker consistancy. He seemed to really like it. We have decided he is about to outgrow his "#1" foods and we will be moving to "#2" foods the next time I go to the grocery store.

Overall we had a lovely day. I'm not including a picture here because somehow Michael erased all our Thanksgiving day pictures from his cell phone. We will try to get some that our friends took. If we do, I'll try to come back and post one here.

I can't believe November is all most over! Where did the month go? I'll try to do a better job of updating this blog for December.

Happy Halloween!

OCTOBER 31, 2008

Ben's very first Halloween! What a cute pumpkin we have! Ben was great and we just went to 2-3 neighbors houses. Then another couple came over (friends of ours) and we hung out, ordered pizza and handed out candy to all the other little children in the neighborhood. Noel and Shristie were dressed up (so cute/scary). Michael and I had a blast dressing up the baby and taking him to visit our neighbors! Poor baby, even though he collected candy, all he got to eat last night was baby food carrots (hey.... at least it was orange). When we took his costume off, he still looked super cute in an outfit Stacey bought him with a mummy on it. It says "Mummy Loves Me" LOL. So cute! We all had a wonderful family holiday. We can't wait to have all his "first" holidays. We are so blessed.

Visiting Grandparents

OCTOBER 16- 26

We visit Alabama. Ok, so when you go anywhere with a baby for 10 days, you might as well move your entire house. (or all the baby stuff within your house). We went to spend some time with our families. We had a great time visiting with grandparents (Ben's), Great-grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Great-Aunts and Uncles, Cousins and friends! What a wonderful, exhausting trip! My Mom watched the baby while Michael and I worked remotely. I think the baby really wore out my parents that week, but I know they loved every minute of it.

Visit from Stacey

OCTOBER 10, 2008

Stacey comes to visit! One of my best friends, Stacey, came to visit us in Atlanta! She just got out of the Air Force and is starting her transition to civilian life. We are so lucky she drove through Georgia on the way to her new home in Virginia. I had a very relaxing weekend just hanging out with her and catching up. She met Ben for the first time and he loved her immediately! What a fun weekend. :-)
